Trick Training Workshop

Location: Rock Hill, SC

Time: Saturday from 12 – 1:30 PM

Dates: July 8

This fast-moving and fun rewards-based workshop is for owners who want to develop new tricks and behaviors with their dogs. The sky is the limit in terms of what you can teach your dog to do! We will go over teaching the dogs to spin left, spin right, hand touch, weave through your legs, come to your hand, come to your left side and your right side, sit pretty, stand on their hind legs and play bow. Earn your AKC Novice Trick Dog Title to register your dog’s accomplishments! At our next Trick Dog Event, when your dog passes the test, Mariah Hinds will give you the official documentation to send to AKC for your certificate. Advanced teams can select which other tricks they want to work on from the AKC Tricks Checklist for Novice, Intermediate or Advanced.

Ask the Trainer Buddy Training

Location: Rock Hill, SC

Time: Saturday from 2 – 4 PM

Dates: July 8

Having a challenge with your dog’s competition skills? Come ask the trainer how to address the skill you want to work on. Then stay for a while and give it a try.

Practicing your dog’s foundation skills? Preparing for the Durham or Greenville trials or the C-WAGS trials? Get out of the summer heat! Run your dog through all the exercises that you’ll need for the trial with the distractions of other teams also practicing. This is a great way to ensure that your dog has he skills that they need for the event. We will have multiple rings set up. Come practice your dog’s skills with new friends!

Stay after and help clean the building and your training time is free! Pizza will be provided! If you don’t want feedback and just want to train, that’s okay too! Feedback is only offered if requested.

Ring Confidence Class

Location: Rock Hill, SC

Time:  7:45 – 8:45 pm

Dates: Wednesday, July 19 – August 23

It’s never too late and never too early to start building your dog’s confidence with entering the ring. Whether you do agility, rally, obedience or any other sport, we all need to teach our dogs that entering a ring at a trial is a really good thing. In this class, we will go over teaching a warm up routine for your particular dog, teaching your dog to be confident when entering the ring even with judges and ring stewards nearby, teaching your dog how to regroup between exercises or after a missed obstacle, and teaching ring exits to a reward (a toy at the end of an agility run or treats at the crate, etc.). If your dog trials differently than during training, this class is for you!
